Respiratory Services – An asthma education and management program
The respiratory services clinic is run by a registered nurse. It is an asthma education and management program based on the 3+ visit plan
Our respiratory educator helps people who suffer from, or are at high risk of, developing a respiratory disease such as:
- Asthma
- Emphysema
- Chronic bronchitis
- Allergies, such as hay fever or severe food allergy
- Shortness of breath
We can provide a range of information and support including;
- Understanding your illness
- Ways to prevent or best manage your condition including healthy eating, exercise and medications
- Learning how to use your medications/devices and monitoring treatment effectiveness.
- Learning to recognise early warning signs
- How to prevent complications or other health problems
- Support with quitting smoking
- Referrals to other relevant services and support groups
Through the Asthma Foundation Victoria, our educator also provides:
- Community Emergency Asthma Management training for child care services, schools and the general community
- Community Anaphylaxis Management training for child care services, schools and tertiary education.
