Gippsland Lakes Community Health has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is committed to establishing and maintaining child inclusive, safe and child friendly environments.
We are committed to inclusive practice and welcome feedback on our services, in particular from Aboriginal, LGBTI and Disability communities.
We acknowledge our work in the community takes place on the traditional lands of the Gunaikurnai people of Gippsland. Gippsland Lakes Community Health respectfully recognises elders both past and present. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are warned that this website may contain images of deceased persons.
We're inviting local people of all ages who are living with all types of diabetes to help us create a supportive community by being part of our initial planning process.
Many people who have diabetes have never talked to anyone else with the same condition and that can be very isolating. With that in mind we want to build safe and helpful spaces where people can come together in person and online to share knowledge, experiences, and support with others juggling the same condition.
Targeting local residents, we aim to create a peer facilitated support group for people living with diabetes where they can make new connections and friendships.
Post planning process, the support group will be managed exclusively by the group members and independently from GLCH. We just want to improve health outcomes for people with all types of diabetes by bringing them together to create a successful and lasting alliance.
If you’re interested in sharing your experiences, thoughts and ideas to assist with start-up, or would just like to be an important member of this group get in contact with our diabetes educator and chronic conditions nurse, Sophie on 5155 8300 #yourhealthourcommitment #since1975 ...
