Marj swapped her china teacup today for one of our reusable cups when our MONDAY ON THE MOVE crew set out on a historical tour to the Stony Creek Trestle Bridge. The Stony Creek Trestle Bridge was built in 1916 when the then existing rail line from Melbourne to Bairnsdale was extended to Orbost. The 247 metre long and 20 metre high bridge, built from red iron bark and grey box timber (all timber found on site), remained in service for over 60 years until damaged by a bush fire. The last train crossed the bridge in 1988.
MONDAY ON THE MOVE is a weekly social and friendship group for Lakes Entrance seniors. We'll collect you from your home at around 12.30pm, take you on a two hour tour of the local area. Today we had a picnic in the sunshine, but usually we stop at a café where you can purchase a cuppa, food or snacks if desired.
We'd love for you to join us! Please give our social activity team a call on 5155 8370 if you'd like to know more about Monday on the Move or book a seat for next week. #MondayOnTheMove #yourhealthourcommitment #since1975 ... See MoreSee Less
