This Reconciliation Action Plan reflects a shared commitment by health services across East Gippsland to strengthen relationships, respect and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Developed in partnership by Gippsland Lakes Complete Health, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, Omeo District Health, Orbost Regional Health and the bush nursing centres of Ensay, Gelantipy, Swifts Creek, Buchan and Dargo, this plan provides a collective framework for advancing reconciliation across our organisations and communities.

While each organisation has its own unique role, we are united by a common goal: to listen, learn and work together to create culturally safe, inclusive and respectful health services for all.

The artwork featured throughout this plan, Light in the Darkness by Bradley Brown, symbolises unity, healing and hope. The interconnected circles represent the people, communities and organisations coming together with a shared purpose and a commitment to walking forward together.

As we begin this journey, we recognise that reconciliation is more than an aspiration. It requires action, accountability and ongoing partnership. This Reconciliation Action Plan represents our commitment to listening better, learning more deeply and working together to create meaningful and lasting change.
