The East Gippsland community has worked hard over the past months to keep the community safe and COVID free.

As part of the ongoing effort to protect East Gippslanders, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, Gippsland Lakes Complete Health, Omeo District Health and Gippsland Primary Health Network have worked together to develop a social media campaign to encourage people, especially visitors from other areas, to follow State Government guidelines around COVID-19, including the wearing of masks.

The campaign, featuring local faces, is a positive reminder to the community and visitors alike to stay safe and follow the COVID-19 rules and regulations.

The services said many locals were concerned that with an influx of visitors heading to the region, “doing the right thing” was important for everyone.

With restrictions easing and people looking forward to visiting popular tourist spots over the summer, it was tempting to become complacent. We ask everyone in our community, as well as visitors, to continue to perform COVID safe practices, including wearing a mask when the rules say, and if you feel unwell, get tested and stay home, even when symptoms are mild.

Enjoy beautiful East Gippsland and stay safe!
